comment Does Apple look through your data such as music or applications when you send in a computer for repair?
Yes, a repair without any questions asked. No wiped drive. The latter is no guarantee as my drive was wiped when I sent it in for repairs. But they told me upfront that this was a possibility. No problem as I had a backup, which I strongly suggest you also make.

comment Does Apple look through your data such as music or applications when you send in a computer for repair?
A friend was in the same situation. She sent in a couple of months old MacBook filled with pirated movies/software for repairs via an Apple Store. No questions asked. But this is irrelevant as you should have a full backup of your hard drive before you send it in for repairs (they might wipe the drive). And if you have a full backup you just as well can wipe it yourself beforehand.

comment OSX: how to determine USB current draw?
Not exactly what you're looking for, but maybe helpful: Using System Information and then checking your USB devices you can see the available and required current per USB device.

Can these two questions, and the answers, be merged? SlowQuitApps is not mentioned as an answer in the earlier question.

Could you maybe elaborate on the "messes up" part? What is iTunes doing exactly to your sound settings?

comment Accidentally deleted files using GNU find -delete - how to recover?
Did a Time Machine backup run at some point before and close to the deletion? It might contain the files you're after.
