I found a solution here that seemed to work for people... Could you maybe link to that solution and explain what step you find difficult to understand?

Also: Welcome to Apple.SE! When answering questions try to make the answer self-contained. In the case that your link would go down your answer would become useless. Hence it's a good custom to quote or rephrase the relevant parts of a linked document in your answer.

All usage scenario's explained on that page assume you have a cable router. I will not have one for a while and wondering if it will work without a modem, but just as an AirPlay receiver. I could not find information on that in the article

Hi, great to hear you found a solution. Could you please post it as an answer, explain what it does and check it as the accepted solution? This keeps the site organised and in the "question&answer" style.

it just removes any labels on it. This is not true, right? It just removes the inbox label. If you would have applied different labels on the message (e.g. boss, work, invite) while it was in the inbox, those labels will still be applied to the message when you archive it.

@Buscar웃 Do you know of such a monitor application that will work on a Intel Core 2 Duo P8800? If I try the linked app it tells me I don't have a 2nd gen Intel Core processor.

I've seen Ryan's update. But you do understand that your answer is very general and not helpful, right? Just stating the fact this is really anormal (yes, that's why the OP is asking for help) and following that up with very general advice to send it in for repair is not helpful considering the answers that were already present before you posted yours. Take a look at the answer help section to see how to improve your answers.

I don't get it... The solution is lrussel810's answer. He states the same as you, but in a more elaborate way. In 2011.

Tried it, works as described. The compilation generates one warning instance method '-_lockScreenMenuHit:' not found, but the lockscreen application works nonetheless. However, when doubleclicked it opens a Terminal window before it locks the screen. After unlocking you have to close the window manually. Is there a way to close that window automatically?
