Anti-Virus Software for Mac OS X Viruses are not always visible. Your VM could become infected and continue to infect others on the network (or be used in an attack) without your knowledge for quite a long time. Even if (as @CajunLuke asks) you start from snapshot every time, you are still "unprotected" the entire time you are using the VM, and after infection a virus only needs seconds to destroy local files and/or attack/spread to other machines. |

What tiny thing in Lion makes you smile or has caught you off guard? I personally find the Mac unusable without something like Quicksilver for app launching (or Alfred) and Witch for window switching. Probably because I am keyboard person. |

What tiny thing in Lion makes you smile or has caught you off guard? FYi for others, you can tell if local backups are enabled in the Time Machine prefs. If enabled it will say something like "local snapshots as time permits". More info in the unofficial FAQ. |

Is there any way to get rid of the sound made when a screenshot is created? This doesn't work on 10.8 either (for non-Grab captures). So @Jason, it would seem it actually isn't relevant anymore. |

How to scan an image (map) using only 256 colors? Thanks, but I'm looking for a clearer scan like you get with black and white vs, grayscale. |

Tool to quickly hide/blur/redact text in as screenshot? Thanks, this looks like a good tool to know. I voted this up, but went with the Preview answer because its native. |

Tool to quickly hide/blur/redact text in as screenshot? Your right lhf, I updated my question to be clearer the goal was to hide the text, blurring is just one way to do it. |
