Well, I was hoping for a solution... I'll join the queue until then.

When you're visiting a relative that requires that you remove your shoes, you won't keep them just because you're used to keeping them at home. That applies to computers, when using a shared space you follow the common rules. I don't want any OS to put any OS-specific files on these NFS shares. I don't want any Thumbs.db or desktop.ini either, but that's another topic.

I've read this question and its answers, BlueHarvest feels like a hack to me. I don't want to delete the folders, I want OSX to behave.

It worked like a charm! I'm impressed, thanks a lot. Now I have to get back to my Mac in order to flash Mavericks on the stick. Thanks!

I tried to run their software in a Windows 7 virtual machine without success. I'll try on a real Windows machine when I'll find one. Thanks a lot!

comment Running *ix Commandline tools in Macbook Air? VNC? Virtual-machine? Usable or too slow?
Did you check ImageMagick's website? They clearly mention how to install it on a Mac OS machine, and they recommend macports. I haven't tested mogrify but I guess there's no problem using it on a Mac OS machine. As @CraftyThumber mentioned, Mac OS belongs to the UNIX family.

Pardon me if I didn't get something, but why don't you use the Terminal app and install something like macports to get everything you need in commandline? the only thing that I had trouble installing was gcc, because I did not want to install Xcode.
