Is it possible to network two MacBook Pro's together without a router? If you connect them together via Ethernet make sure you have a crossover cable. A regular Ethernet cable will not work. |

What causes chmod to not work on an ssh file in OSX? You can try 400 instead of 600. I suggested 600 because that's what I have on my system. ... To make your USB stick a "Mac device" just format it using Disk Utility.app. |

What to do when Time Machine backup is taking forever? Also, if your external drive is connected to a USB hub make sure it is a USB 2.0 hub and make sure there are no USB 1.0 devices attached to that hub. Some cheap USB 2.0 hubs will slow down all attached devices to USB 1.0 speeds when a USB 1.0 device is attached |
