comment How to solve audio sync issue on the Mac? (and it is not just by a constant out of sync amount)
oh that might be better. I am right now trying this: detach audio, and click on the video clip and choose Modify -> Retime -> Custom Speed and type in 100.13 in the box and press Enter. It appears as 100 again but the duration below will shrink by 4 seconds. This way I can make it sync better, but there seems to be a granularity of 4 seconds. So if I type in 100.08, it still would show as 4 seconds shorter, instead of only 3 seconds shorter. But it is strange... if I keep on trying different numbers, sometimes I can make it 5 seconds shorter... so it is a bit random

actually, it seems that no matter I choose 23.98 or 30, the out of sync amount would be the same

comment How to order and re-order video clips added to iDVD?
Ok, I double checked and also used the Magic DVD option to create a disc. I dragged in the file one by one, and created the disc. And the clips are still not in the correct order if I press Next on the remote for the set top box DVD player. Then I checked, the order was not according to the sort order of filesize, not by file modification time (by checking in Bash using ls -lt), not by file creation time (using ls -ltU), not by filename. So I really wonder what the order is...

comment How to make Final Cut Pro created DVD disc playable on DVD players?
yes I did try that on the Macbook Pro... getting a .img file first and then using Disk Utility to burn it. The result is the same: can't be played on a set top DVD box... I could use VLC to open the disc and it is like a DVD disc though

I can check... but if I drag the files in with them highlighted in a range, or even if drag them in one by one, and the program would go ahead and sort them by file modification date or file size, I think it would be somewhat unnatural to do

comment How to install iDVD on OS X Yosemite or Mavericks?
maybe that's why iLife 09 is more expensive than iLife 11 on Amazon... also iLife 09 is a 4.2 stars of of 5 vs iLife 11 is 3.6 stars... although I haven't investigated into why the lower star ratings... it might be due to some other reasons

comment How do you rip a VCD on a Mac?
those .DAT are actually MPG file plus some extra data... some people say if you rename them as .MPG you will get side effects, and VCDGear or ISOBuster can do the job more correctly... in terms of whether HandBrake can handle it without VCDGear or ISOBuster, that I don't know yet

comment Can iTunes on Yosemite use ExFAT? On Mavericks I think you can
yes that's exactly what I did and iTunes cannot run if the drive is in ExFAT
