Using Photo Stream and ICloud Apple is just not in the cloud business. Not now. Maybe not ever, unless they focus on it. Hell, I think MobileMe worked better, and sure had nicer stuff--albums, cards, sites, iDisk. Different, I know, Apple and the cloud are a running if fond joke on the Mac blogs about now. Read the sad stories on Apple Support - or don't. Where have all my photos gone?! How to explain to noobs, It mostly all Just Works. |

make new Finder windows open at current folder Damn, you're right. And all these years and I never twigged on Select anything and hit Open. For above comment, I always had a Folder selected. Not sure anymore about answer below, either. Comm-N and Comm-O seem to do same thing. |

Spotlight does not find file By making a Saved Search - which you can then drag to the Finder Sidebar if wanted. Or download the free and excellent EasyFind from DevonTechnologies, which will find anything anywhere. |

Is there a way to copy the link URL in Safari (Mac OS X) without using right click? The Mac still relies on Drag and Drop, though a lot of this remains unspoken. Having two open app windows visible—-Safari and Mail, for example--allows drag and drop of not only links but images and sometimes text selections. Sometimes dropping on the Desktop as intermediate step--but experiment! |

Reason why applications aren't stored in the Home-Folder? Users have access to /Applications. They can also have aliases galore in ~/Applications. But all Apple apps do want to live in /Applications, that's where updaters will look. |
