Disable mouse acceleration Interesting solution, but the part that will automatically download a script from the internet sounds like a security vulnerability. (E.g. if that website gets hacked one day.) |

How can I avoid re-encoding of video in iMovie and use it for cutting only? I'm trying to do the same thing with a simple trim. I don't see a Save option on Mountain Lion though, it seems like it forces you to export the video. Has anyone been able to get it to save without re-encoding the video? |

What does the clear key do on Apple's numpad? It seems to do the same thing that Escape does in Calculator. |

Restore previous apps after upgrade to 4.2? @duci9y: Woops I incorrectly referred to it as an iPhone 3GS when in fact it is a 3G. |

Getting notified when my iPhone is found at a different email address? I updated the question to clarify that I'm looking for a solution for after the phone is stolen. |

Getting notified when my iPhone is found at a different email address? This seems like you would need the iPhone to do this. What if I want to do this after the phone is stolen? |

How do I report a bug in Safari 6.0? @bmike: Oh I see, I thought you meant that the Safari Developer program has a special site designed for bug reporting, but that is not the case. It uses the same one as bugreporter.apple.com, but you need an apple developer ID to access that website, so it would be a good idea to sign up as a Safari developer since that is the product I'm experiencing a problem with anyways. |

How do I report a bug in Safari 6.0? @bmike: I joined the program, but the only reference I saw there to bug reporting just takes you to the bugreporter.apple.com link above. Am I missing something? |

How do I report a bug in Safari 6.0? @bmike: is it free to submit a bug through the Safari Developer program? Is there a direct link to there, or will I see it once I login to the above link? |

Fix Better Touch Tool so that it doesn't prevent sleep? @kccricket: yes, I've tried it many times and BTT is always the problem. It will still turn the monitor off, but the computer won't go to sleep. That's one of the reasons this bug is hard to catch. Are you sure that your computer is actually going to sleep and it's not just the monitor that is going to sleep? See this question for detecting the difference between the two. |

Dialog pops up everyday for less than a second This solved the problem. It was a problem with Facebook Video Calling. I just found a similar thread at Apple's support forms. |

Dialog pops up everyday for less than a second Good idea, @timothymh. It seems like it's a problem with Facebook Video Calling. I just found a similar thread at Apple's support forms. Could you add your suggestion as an answer? |

Getting a list of currently running processes This gives me the same info as ephsmith's answer, but it excludes -bash, sort, xargs and doesn't display an error message (which is a good thing). Also, it uses a simpler command, thanks. |

Getting a list of currently running processes Awesome, thanks! For the record, I ended up piping it to sort too. So the final command is: ps ax -o comm | xargs -I % basename % | sort |

Getting a list of currently running processes Thanks for the answer, I tried it but it still outputs the entire path to the process. I'm looking for a solution which only outputs the process name and not its path. For example instead of outputting /sbin/launchd, it should just output launchd. |

Getting a list of currently running processes The first command still outputs the entire path of the process, which causes it to be cut off at the length of my terminal window. For example, in Activity Monitor I see launchd in ps, it is shown as /sbin/launchd. It's not a problem for this process, but it is a problem for those that are nested in many folders. Is there any way to get just the name of the process without its path? |

Is putting the computer to sleep while it's in a hot car a bad idea? Are you sure that the negligible discharge doesn't significantly alter the battery's lifetime? Can you link to a website/expert that talks about it? And what if I leave it in there for many hours such that at any given moment it's not discharging a lot, but taken as a whole, it does discharge a significant amount? |

Is putting the computer to sleep while it's in a hot car a bad idea? The question is if this slow usage of the battery while it's in sleep is significant enough that it is damaging the battery more quickly than just storing it in the hot car. |
