10,000 + Macintosh machines being managed by CMEM Envi

  • 10.4.x (NO LONGER IN USE)
  • 10.5.x
  • 10.6.x
  • 10.7.x
  • 10.8.x
  • 10.9.x (Ported to JAMF)

I have since ported all of my custom scripts, concepts & logic to JAMF as either Extension Attributes, Custom Profile Templates or Policies. It was an awesome run and I am proud to say that my work is still being used elsewhere, but at this point there isn't any reason not to use and promote the JAMF product. It truly is an incredible product with no limits.

@NicolasRaoul I was wondering what ended up being your solution. We are working with pieces of ownCloud and simply not utilizing their storage.

comment How to press Control key on Mac
@Michiel I think he is asking how to exit or save while using the editor nano inside Terminal. Really kinda need the OP to clarify as the question is difficult to understand.

comment Lion server - networked logins?
Agreed, you make a very good point. Server|Client relationships in regards to small office situations are not always a good fit and I think a "heads up" should be appreciated.

comment Lion server - networked logins?
I agree with your points in that there may be drawbacks. I have moved away from mobile syncing, and have done much the same as you have described above in regards to regular admin users. Aside from standard clients (students) who are managed for specific restrictions I generally leave management of users alone. However there are certainly huge advantages in at least binding the machine to LDAP and having the users "known" by the server. :–) Also, mcx management/local mcx management is quite helpful if you have a need, and no other way of systematically managing by specific groupings.

Unfortunately the following answer is not yet tested as I do not currently have access to test it. If it does not work as expected I will remove or edit my post accordingly. It has been awhile since I used mobile account with WGM.

Adding the Screen Saver to Hot Corners is very handy and you did a very good job explaining how to set them up and apply them. :–)
