Python Virtualenv is broken since upgrading to OS X Mountain Lion Also this happened to be the reason that python twisted wouldn't install into other virtual env's. |

Can't telnet to a local device from mac, but can from tablet, why?+ Are you connecting to the same port number? Are you sure that the app is using telnet and not ssh? |

Why are all ports closed even without firewall or router? How are you connected to the internet? If it is a cable/adsl modem it is likely to have a NAT layer. |

Can you override app sandboxing, force app to use working directory? Ah of course - I forgot that the gnu version is not what is provided on OSX (readlink works in linux, or if you've installed gnu versions) - this has an alternative - stackoverflow.com/questions/1055671/… - but as you say, you could just use the pwd. |

How to block unwanted sites from opening? Why was the question downvoted - I could see a user wanting to use this to deal with popups/popunders - which without some of the neat add ons to other browsers is a problem in safari. |

Can you override app sandboxing, force app to use working directory? Readline is originally intended for following symlinks and getting the original file, but it can also be used to get absolute pathnames out in bash too. The man page describes it as "canonicalize" - that is to find the one true file that all the symlinks (and the path may have more than one) point to. |

Terminal $PATH error Yes. I think so - if the original path expansion included other characters (okay I cannot see unescaped spaces working in the path), then you may not be including them in the assignment. General bash defensive coding... |

Terminal $PATH error I think the ordering there is correct, however I would still advise quoting the lot. |

Can you override app sandboxing, force app to use working directory? A generic solution there may be to have an intermediate shell script that creates the absolute filename based on the file relative the current working directory. "readlink <filename>" will give that output. |

How can I alter the spotlight category spreadsheets to include ODS Hmm - it is OSS - so this is pretty much DIY maybe. I wander if there are any Libre or Open office bundlings for OSX that have tighter integration with stuff like that? |
