Recover in-memory Pages data from failed hibernation wakeup Do you have the decryption keys for the RAM image? Sleepimages are not saved plain so before you have any chance of getting anything back from that RAM image you need to decrypt it. Regardless of the fact that I don't know where exactly OS X stores that key it's extremely unlikely that you can still recover the necessary key. |

mount AFP share, carrying the server's file ACLs through to the client If you're in need to often change your ACLs you may want to rethink your concept. In my personal experience there is no need to do this once it's properly set up. One usually only adds or removes people from groups. - You may have an ACL inherited that overrides another one unintentionally. Better separate to multiple share points than cutting on the read prig with an ACL. - If you want to have your backups read only, add an ACL there overriding write and delete and inheriting that to subfolders. |

How can I search for photos taken at a specific time? You can also search based on that EXIF data with the Finder. |

Why does my macbook pro displays random garbled blocks? Are you using gfxCardStatus by Cody Krieger? (If yes, update to the latest version.) |

Macbook Air motherboard description GSX will not give you this information either. (I have access to GSX.) You will get limited information in the device's TechNote if one is available for that model. (You need to have service personnel status with Apple to access this information.) |

secure erasing empty space without destroying the disk Can also be done from the terminal via diskutil secureErase freespace level device. See man diskutil for what the parameters mean. - Unformatted disks can be overwritten with random data with diskutil randomDisk [times] device or zeroes with diskutil zeroDisk device or just use good old dd. |

Sound recorder for Mac OS X I can not recommend Audacity for recordings longer than 30 minutes (or basically anything at all, but that is my personal opinion). It's just not stable enough on OS X. The already mentioned QuickTime Player X will work well for that. As already suggested, recording quality heavily depends on the microphone, not the software. |
