comment MMS can not send to Android phone: gets iMessage error
@JonathanLeaders I got it to work, not sure how :(. Maybe have them send you a message. It may reset some "has iMessage" flag locally on your phone.

@Rogue i agree with all you said :) maybe split, free apps with family, but a number just in case for outside contacts only you can say if that works

@Rogue the cost we can't help :) are most or all of your friends on smartphones? Does something like Line/WhatsApp/Viber/etc make sense? Google hangouts itself has messaging also

comment How do I stop Safari on my iPad from reloading tabs once they are already open?
@AlanShutko I don't think amount of RAM would help too much. A browser using memory for a week is a waste as far as the OS is concerned. You'd suspend even with 16Gb

comment I have forgotten my iCloud username and password and need to turn Find My iPhone off. What can I do?
Maybe something obvious, but I have a limited number of email addresses... If it's not a@b.com then it may be cde@b.com, or abcde@xyz.com. Going through your (probably not huge) list of emails may allow you to do "forgot password" or something like that. Also, did any of your friends do iMessage to your AppleID? Thats probably the same email you used for Activation Lock.

comment Applications in appstore aren't binary?
@GuilhermeNascimento iOS devices may have either a 32 bit CPU or a 64 bit ARM based, Apple designed CPU. Though the 32 bit code may run on 64 bit, 64 bit code will not run on 32 bit machines. I think you can have an iOS "universal binary" with code sections for 32 and 64 bit CPUs - this is kind of what Apple did when going from Motorola 68K to PowerPC. Apple also just announced in iOS9 to trim unused data and code from binaries, so that you'll save space on the device.

I'm in the U.S. and I can not view it as outside of US people view it.

comment Applications in appstore aren't binary?
@GuilhermeNascimento the "compile at install time" doesn't explain iOS or MacOSX apps, but I think new Android OS installs do this. Take the machine agnostic byte code, run it through the java (err, darvik) compiler on the device for native instructions. This will change download vs install sizes. Again, neither iOS nor MacOSX do this.

A third option, though not all apps will have this, is that the installer detects machine type and downloads secondary content at install time. A way to test this would be to turn off networking during install. Again, not all apps do this, but for completeness, this could explain SOME installs. Most apps would NOT do source, both because you want to obscure your work, and also you can't rely on all users to have XCode.
