comment Emptying trash, with file-in-use: Is there any difference between 'skip' and 'continue'?
I just tried this and it didn't work. I ran cat > testfile from the command line, deleted the testfile, emptied the trash (it complained as above), killed the cat command and then hit continue, but the testfile was not trashed.

comment camera roll “usage” number does not match photos in the app
I meant the files had the ".mov" suffix, but they were either corrupt or some other mistake/bug because none of them were playable. I haven't seen this in a long time now though, and they may have been on my phone for some years (they only showed up when viewing using Image Capture, not when looking at my photos/videos on the phone itself).

comment Why does iMovie change QuickTime Video's size
I'm not sure exactly what this "size" you're referring to is, if it's not the frame resolution? Can you post a screenshot of how you're seeing this information?

Not just nano, but pico, emacs and vim (all built-in) also allow cursor positioning using the mouse with option+Click.

note, seems fixed perhaps no longer required (this question could perhaps be closed)

comment Can the Java SDK pop-up be disabled entirely?
Since I'm on the El Capitan beta, I can't actually confirm the above works due to SIP, but for anyone going down this route on older OS X versions it may also/alternatively require renaming /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework (which contains the binaries that /usr/bin/javac etc link to)

comment Can the Java SDK pop-up be disabled entirely?
Thanks, but yeah I'm hoping not to have to change the system stuff, especially since the imminent OS X 10.11 El Capitan release will effectively disable such solutions
