I'm a software developer / computer science researcher who just loves everything related to the software engineering.

Although I'm continuously learning something new and different, my main field of interest is software evolution.

I know key concepts of oop, tdd, bdd, java, eclipse, c, ruby… But my main question remains the same: „How do you create a living system that is going to evolve and not begin dying slowly after the release (or even before)?“

comment Run java bundled in .app from command-line
It's a nice idea. But I'm looking for a solution to run just one app with a different java. Thou making the script that will switch java, launch app and switch if back is also an option. Anyway the problem is solved because Netbeans unix-executable binary allows to set a home of JDK as a parameter. But the question is still interesting, and you have pointed out the best working solution this far.

@rubixibuc I have NetBeans.app. And I need to run it under JDK7. Is the any way of doing in except for making /usr/bin/java to point a java binary in JDK7 bundle?

comment Safari acting weird. Not loading pages and showing some Chinese text
@TomGewecke how can I change the encoding of that stuff? Because if I just change encoding of a webpage in Safari, it reloads the whole page, so the original content is loaded.

@bneely it's no URL dependent, just happens from time to time with different URLs (for sure more often with those sites that auto refresh). And it happens in different places, event at work where I have a broadband internet, so it's not about internet problems. Also when some page hangs while loading and I hit refresh, it usually loads instantly.
