Switching from a Mac Mini HTPC to an Apple TV: what solution for watching these mkv files? I just heard (via Merlin Mann) that iFlicks can put a quicktime wrapper around an mkv file, allowing itunes to play it. Anybody knows anything about this? Looks like this software claims to do this too. |

Switching from a Mac Mini HTPC to an Apple TV: what solution for watching these mkv files? And the Roku HD with ethernet and USB port is only $80 right now... Interesting. Apple really needs to open ATV to developers. And thanks for reminding me that there is no jailbreak on ATV3 ! |

Screen flickering with 2009 Mac Mini: overheating issue? Of course, the most obvious solution was the right one: my DPtoHDMI cable (the one with USB for audio) is fried :) I will ask my Apple TV question separately. |

Is there any Mac software out there for scientific image management? That's one way of doing it indeed, but it could become quickly cumbersome don't you think? |

Is there any Mac software out there for scientific image management? I haven't really found anything that fits. There are a few applications specific to medical imagery (RMI, microscope, CT-scan, etc...) but they are very focused on their specific fields. So it looks like this kind of software doesn't really exist, or at least I couldn't find it. Do you think I could cross-post this to another SE site? |

Fully displaying volume size info on the desktop I played with one plist setting [osxdaily.com/2011/11/25/… and I managed to get more stuff displayed, even by reverting back to 25 characters later. But then if I try to increase the font size further, I still get back the ... |

Fully displaying volume size info on the desktop I just tried on another Mac and all combinations of icon size and text size properly display the size info. So it seems it is specific to the Mac Mini/TV combination... |
