I cannot use chflags with another user on a directory that belongs to the system. What you mean is that I use chmod to change the user ownership, right? But if the installer has root access it can still remove my file and add another one.

the question is this: because the file is on /Library/LaunchDaemons I have to type sudo chflags uchg filename. If the installation asks for my root password, as it does, isn't this command useless?

comment How to use the aggregate device editor to route a mic channel
professional cardiod mic using a phantom power thru AD converter M-audio firewire solo, delivering 4 track audio. Audio just on channel 3. Audacity can see it. Audition can see it. Quicktime can see it. All 3 record 4 track channel audio when the mic is selected. 4 track audio, audio just on track 3, all other tracks empty. No, dictation cannot see it. Thanks.

the problem is that this device is firewire, not USB and like I said a professional mic that delivers 4 tracks and OSX Dictation does not sees it.

tell that to Yosemite dictation because it is not working with the mic. :( also it is not just a matter of working. Apps that work generate 4 track audio for this mic, what is stupid because the mic is mono.
