comment make it easier to call often used terminal commands
That will probably work but isn't the idea of putting something into a directory in your PATH that you don't have to address it like that? I thought that having it in the PATH meant that you could call just the filename from any directory and it would be found?

comment homebrew broken after time machine restore
sam$ /usr/local/Cellar/ffmpeg/2.1.4/bin/ffmpeg dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/local/lib/libx264.125.dylib Referenced from: /usr/local/Cellar/ffmpeg/2.1.4/bin/ffmpeg Reason: image not found Trace/BPT trap: 5 So that didn't work. Uninstall ffmpeg then install ffmpeg does work but thats just a real pain to have to do for every package that I have! Im really not happy with Time Machine for this... I thought the whole idea was that it backed EVERYTHING up for this scenario :(

comment C++ how to accept a given file as an argument
I was unsure if this was right place to post or not but I felt it was more a question of 'how the Finder operates and handles drag and drop' rather than coding... I will try using Automator for it, but Im not having much luck getting it to pass the arguments through correctly.

comment Qt Creator for Mac
Thank you. I am also a little unsure about the usage of Qt: can I make GUI apps for any platform? I seem to be seeing Nokia a lot when I search for Qt, what has Nokia got to do with it?

comment How can I hide an Application from the Updates Tab in the Mac App Store?
I already have it hidden, hoping that this would be the case but the update is still visible, even though it is hidden in purchases...

comment How can I hide / remove updates from the Mac App Store?
I am having the same problem with the app 'IP Scanner". I had it installed on my computer, then did a clean install of the OS and for some reason it kept giving me this update even though I haven't installed it since the OS reinstall. Anyone figured out how to fix this? Also, why can some updates be hidden and not others?
