Stick with Emacs, TextMate wishes it was as good.

comment How to force a Mac to restart without pressing the power key?
halt is a synonym for reboot on Darwin/BSD. You can also use sudo shutdown now - There's also no need to go to su superuser mode as a separate stage. Just sudo reboot will be enough, then enter the password when prompted.

comment What's a good graphical SFTP utility for OS X?
Since you're on Snow Leopard, have a look at MacFusion - you can just mount an ssh/sftp connection like a network volume, simple. (note: it's may work with Lion too, see here)

Re MacFuse/MacFusion, it's good, but currently not working with OS X Lion. (this will also apply to sshfs)

comment How to clean ._AppleDouble files from unix packages?
@VxJasonxV - FYI find on OS X supports -delete (at least with 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, not certain about earlier versions.)

comment What is the difference between iTerm2 and Terminal?
I have to add that, personally, I think the zsh completion is about the best I've used inside a shell / terminal. (Especially when used with oh-my-zsh - by the way...take note.)

Although autocompletion is a feature of bash and other shells (zsh has particularly awesome autocomplete) and not the Terminal app itself. iTerm2 also has a special autocompletion mode too ... iterm2.com/#/section/features/autocomplete

@daviesgeek It will avoid confusion, the two are totally different products, iTerm is pretty much abandoned at this point, while iTerm2 is in very active development.

Make sure you label this as iTerm2 a different development altogether.

+1 - This is reasonably simple to do and complete. It doesn't hurt that it's free too.

-1 - Limited and not free, just go the IMAP route.

comment Is it possible to duplicate images in LittleSnapper?
That's right. From an architectural point of view, it was a bad decision, and it definitely won't be something they can fix quickly/easily, so they will be resistant without a lot of users asking for a change. It may turn out that the .lslibrary is in a known (ie. non-proprietory) format, such as a coredata table, or some other third party format, in which case it would be possible to pull all the images out and process them normally. If they've made their own format you'll have to wait on them.

comment What is the safest way to triple boot Macbook Pro?
@shan23 refit is the way to go if you want full native boot, but you'll only need that for Games or other VERY resource heavy apps.

comment Emacs Ctrl-x ctrl-s command not working in Terminal.app
@Bret Moore, it's certainly a bit unusual, by new account, I assume you mean a new account on the Mac? ... anyway, C-s shortcut is definitely overridden by something above the scope of the Terminal.app, so changing the Terminal settings / plists, won't have any affect on it. Presumably you've checked global keyboard settings as suggested by Sylvain Defresne, the only other thing I could suggest is to make sure you don't have a third party app installed which is capturing the C-s shortcut, QuickSilver for example.
