comment How many applications can I run simultaneously on a new Macbook Air?
If this is the case, then when I look in Activity Monitor what should my average CPU and average RAM be? In other words, besides experimenting day after day with battery life, is there a way to find a sweet spot for operation? Am I aiming, for example, for no less than 90% idle CPU and at least 500MB Ram Free?

comment Is there a desktop twitter client that has a built in browser?
I want Twitter to act more like Reeder. Simple as that. I want a stream or feed on the left, and then if a tweet has a link in it I want it to show up on the right. I don't want to necessarily click on links to be able to see what a link is about

I have a mid 2007 MacBook (2.16GHZ) with 2GB of RAM and routinely run 15 applications simultaneously, so I need as much RAM as I can get and even when I'm not using it Safari just seems to keep grabbing more kicking on fans and stuff. I've already done the gruber trick with Flash, but it still seems to be the most greedy app I run. That's why I have a desire to write this hack.

comment How do I fix this Smart Folder problem? It keeps switching off of “This Mac”
Thanks for the effort you put into this answer. Unfortunately, that's exactly what I've done. It works just as you've shown here, the first time... but then if I close that folder and come back to it, say in a couple of days, it somehow has snapped back to not searching "This Mac". And actually, I just tried it again, and this one is working, but I clicked on "Search Criteria" and it still is clicked on the name of the smart folder and not this mac. I'm using 10.6.6
