Using Photo Stream and ICloud I'm running out the door but the short answer to the overall question is "yes, this will work" (for a reasonable quantity of photos--per service restrictions). I followed this same procedure last fall Camera > iPad >>Photostream>> Aperture (running on my Mac) and all my photos (Raw, plus processed jpegs) were in the library when I returned home. |

Using Photo Stream and ICloud While this question would benefit from some rephrasing, I don't see it as being overly problematic. The four sub questions all apply to the main topic: Will vacation photos dumped to an iPad be transferred to my home computer via Photostream? |

Given the strength and scratch resistance of Gorilla Glass, are cases of value for iPhones? Phablet is a jargony term for the larger-screen (generally Android) phone models that blur the distinction between phone and tablet. |

In a school library I have 30 iPads to set up for teachers to use in their classrooms. Forgot to add the link for Fraser Speirs |

In a school library I have 30 iPads to set up for teachers to use in their classrooms. This isn't a simple question--and it may be a debate. Different institutions have different answers based on their requirements and licensing. Entire conference tracks have been devoted to this topic. You might find the writings of [Fraser Speirs] and iPad Mike to be helpful. There is also a lot of information about MDM at JAMFnation |

iPhoto crashes at launch? Seems iPhoto is looking for a missing library |

iPhoto crashes at launch? Have you removed or otherwise tampered with the Python libraries? |

Apple ID - Want to make my xxx@icloud.com primary Apple ID? Your question is unclear. Did you have a pre-existing Apple ID before you registered for iCloud? Have you made purchases with that ID that you want to use and update moving forward? What do you mean by primary? What exactly do you want to accomplish? Please help us to help you. |

Apple ID - Want to make my xxx@icloud.com primary Apple ID? I'm not sure this is an accurate assessment of the situation. I suspect Jaimmin has two unique Apple IDs—just as I do. The question is confusing. |

Sharing a single Dropbox between multiple accounts on one Mac - possible? Seems like an edge case. You're asking Dropbox (and its associated file permissions) to work in a way for which it wasn't designed. I appreciate your wish to not dupe 50gb of data on an Air, but I'd fear possible problems introduced by solving this. The risk if data corruption isn't worth it—at least to me. |

Why does restoring a photo from Time Machine only restore the original in iPhoto and not the edited version? Push comes to shove, the question in the title--why does this happen--has nothing to do with the real question: How should I restore my drive. (I think the title question is the more interesting as the other is likely covered elsewhere.) |

icloud photos to mac - how? What do you mean by "automatically backed up to iCloud"? Photostream only contains the 1000 most recent images. |

Protect my files from local admins You're not the only "professional" sys/security admin here and I stand by my assertion. |

Protect my files from local admins This is a rather obscure vulnerability. FileVault 2 is generally considered secure. |

Protect my files from local admins An admin would need to use sudo to access your files. |

Protect my files from local admins Your home directory is not accessible to an Administrator via the Finder. An administrator can access files via Terminal if they know the proper incantation. (They probably do.) |

Why can't I paste into the password dialog when mounting an encrypted disk image? Storing the password in the system keychain runs against the notion of keeping the enclosed files secure. If someone has access to your open account, they can access the encrypted files. You could however move the keys for encrypted images into a second keychain that is protected by a different password. That way you would only have one additional complex password to remember. |

Why can't I paste into the password dialog when mounting an encrypted disk image? I generate and store the passwords in Password Wallet and type them into the dialog. They're not overly long, but they are random and at least to my thinking, they're secure enough. |

What does the arrow with 2 lines through it mean? Just beat me to it. Daniel Aleksandersen also provides Unicode symbols for the Mac keyboard special keys |
