comment Why I am unable to switch bash to the one installed by homebrew?
I'm not an expert, but that sounds like a really bad idea. Actually, I'm pretty sure this is impossible with SIP on 10.11 and later.

comment “Remote Desktop Client” updated, but NOT installed
One point of confusion may be that Apple nowadays deploys system software updates via the App Store--it's not exclusively used for 3rd party apps. The software update in question has been deployed by Apple to all Macs, and it's in everyone's best interest to update to patch security holes. Also, if you purchased a used Mac and it had an existing user account, you really should have it wiped and reinstalled to be sure you are secure.

comment What are alternatives for Menumeters on El Capitan?
In case anyone is looking for it and unable to access the linked site, here's the zip file that was available for download before it went down. I'll be happy to remove this when you get back online. dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8413228/MenuMeters_1.9.zip It's also possible to install by downloading the xcode project from GitHub

Rolled back an edit: see Apple Style Guide bottom of page 49. Double-click is the proper usage for the home button.

@Jonathan. Nope. Touching the home button does nothing when the phone is sleeping.
