comment Force the resolution on a headless mac mini server
@cwd, There are no instructions, other than download, unzip and double-click the installer. I direct linked it because it's convenient, although if you want to go through one more step click here. "-1" all you want, even though I think it's rather silly since you can't figure out how to use something, or don't think it's "intuitive". I've given a couple alternatives as well - which I think might be better anyway.

comment Print file from terminal via smb
@Mark, print is not strictly a windows command; It's also present with the Linux version of smbutils, and it once was included in the OS X version. You are quite correct about lpr ā€” this is the command one would use to print from terminal on OS X.

comment How do I recompile Bash to avoid Shellshock (the remote exploit CVE-2014-6271 and CVE-2014-7169)?
The OS X bash Update 1.0 patch mentioned above is specific to OS X 10.9.5 or later ā€” Here's all of them: OS X 10.7.5 (Lion), OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion), OS X 10.9.5 ( Mavericks).

comment Mass remove character from file names and folder names
If you're starting at the root of it then yes, it might take a little while. I usually test it on a directory that I know contains a matching item, then if all looks good run the command from higher up (and go for a walk if needed).

comment Mass remove character from file names and folder names
@Vinozio, How many directories are you scanning? It should be almost instantaneous if not many. If you're starting at / for example it could take a while. Try using the command in a directory where you know there's a file/folder with the < in the name and see what it does.

comment Does Remote Wipe securely wipe the contents of the drive?
@LucasKauffman, I was meaning to the way in which Apple defined "secure wipe". As for AES-256, yes, it's quite secure, and humans will never break it. Quantum computing might stand a better chance, however, there's no way of telling what is possible beyond what we currently (think we) know.
