The term "resolution" refers to the accuracy of a display, or the measurement of pixels in both the horizontal and vertical directions. A few years ago, a common resolution was 1024 pixels by 768 pixels. The iPhone 4 has a resolution of 960 by 640. Although it should be noted that the iPhone has a higher pixel density. (Pixel Density is related to, but not equivalent to, resolution.)
