Nanos or shuffles are great for workouts at the gym or while running. You can use them just about anywhere. I personally use a Classic for my stuff, but the nano is great if you have a smaller library or want something very mobile. As far as what you can do with it (other than playing music), it really depends on which generation you have. You obviously ...

My suspicion is that your charger was not the standard AC charger, and the voltage some how blew part of the port hardware, but not all of it. Are you near an Apple Store or a Reseller? They can probably try to boot it, and if it won't be recognized, they may give you a recycling discount on a new shuffle. It's probably not cost conscious to repair when a ...

If the playlist sync over but the podcasts fail to play, it could be that you have your iPod shuffle set to "shuffle songs". You must switch to "play in order" for it to work. From Apple Support: Playing Audiobooks and Podcasts on iPod shuffle When using iPod shuffle (1st and 2nd generation), if iPod shuffle is set to shuffle songs it will play ...

You can find some information about the guts of an iPod Shuffle here. Also because the selling point of a Shuffle is price (and portability) while still maintaining the Apple quality I don't think Apple would put much more components into it than what is absolutely necessary.

There is an Autofill button that you must select (click) before syncing to get the music onto the device.

It will work as you expect. However, a work around for first-track-will-be-played-most when using album shuffle is to have one or more intermediate playlists that take random samples from the library, e.g., Library 10 000 tracks Playlist A selects 1 000 tracks from Library by random Now if you play from A shuffled by album the first-track-effect will ...

Sounds like to me that your earphones have started to prematurely break down. How does the cable look? Is there bends or twists near the ends? If there is then perhaps a wire is broken inside the cable. Normally this would mean no sound rather than a decrease in volume. Either way it seems that the earphones will need to be replaced completely. Are you ...

My shuffle has two playlists: Sleep: Thirty minutes of soft instrumental music followed by nine hours of rainfall Wakeup: One hour of four- and five-star songs lasting two to five minutes that have not been played in the past six months It needs a recharge every two days.

On my iPod Shuffle (Gen 3) I have one playlist, "Gym" - mainly fast paced rock and electronic music, I use this while I'm training. The shuffle is ideal for this as it is lightweight and clips to my gym kit unobtrusively. That is all I use it for as have an iPhone, so use that as my day to day device, however, even the 2GB Shuffle will hold 12 hours of ...

I use my iPod nano in the car to listen to podcasts during my commute. I have a Belkin TuneBase FM Transmitter—the older model of what's shown below—so that I can listen using my car's stereo.

This is a common problem with earphones. Unfortunately there is no way to fix them. If your iPod is still under warranty (at 7 months, it is), and quite frequently even if it's not, if you take it back to an Apple Store and talk to an assistant they will simply give you a new pair for free.

Get info for the checked tracks and see if in the Options tab, Skip when Shuffling is checked. If so, those tracks won't sync to an iPod shuffle.

If you've tried resetting it as per these instructions from Apple and it still doesn't work, it probably means that the battery is dead. This would be my guess since red light means that the iPod isn't charing: If a red light is blinking or continuously on, your iPod battery may not be charged.[...] — http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1412 You should of ...

It may be a format issue. In non-iOS products, there's something called a format. If you originally synced it to a PC, then it won't sync with a Mac (and vise versa). The only way to sync it with the other computer is to format it. This (hopefully) won't be a problem because of iTunes in the cloud, which syncs your music throughout your computers. I hope ...
