The iBook is a line of PowerPC-based laptop computers sold by Apple between 1999-2006, alongside the higher-end Powerbook line. The original iBook sported a distinctive "clamshell" shape and colours reminiscent of the original iMacs being sold at the time. The iBook line featured G3 and G4 PowerPC processor models, and was replaced by the MacBook line in 2006 during Apple's transition to Intel as its processor supplier.
