Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have an iPad and an Apple bluetooth keyboard -- one of these things. I keep the keyboard in a kind of vinyl folder that sort of origamis into a stand for the iPad. (I can't remember what it's called or where I got it.)

A couple times a day I put iPad & keyboard into my shoulder bag.

If I remember to turn the keyboard off by pressing the power button, everything's fine.

But sometimes I forget to do that and the key that gets unintentionally pressed is the "Play" function-key (I guess) and my iPad will start playing a random song.

Is there some way to configure the iPad to never play music unless I explicitly launch iTunes and select something specific to play?
