Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have business and personal email accounts on my mac, and the default email sometimes gets overlooked and I find myself emailing business contacts from my personal account. I have to pick a default, so it's personal. I would love to find another app, or a plugin, or anything, that would ask me or automagically change the email address used to send the email based on the recipient "class"

Any ideas?

Unfortunately it is still not possible to have a Automated switching of the send email account based on email address.

It is always going to be the default account unless you change it manually.

For mere information see this

Thanks for the update. I tried searching and just couldn't find anything. I appreciate you linking to the previous same question and regret having duplicated it! –  user37338 Jun 22 '13 at 20:13

There are small tricks (work around) like creating a Smart folder where all your business emails go. Then when you use the replay to it will send using the right email account. The problem remains when you creating new emails :( –  Buscar 웃 Jun 22 '13 at 20:25
