Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm trying to set up dwm in Mountain Lion, and while I have a lot of experience in UNIX-like systems, I haven't been using Apple products for very long. I'm following this gist: https://gist.github.com/vangberg/311377, but sadly with my current install of X11/XQuartz, I can't find any of the standard xinitrc type files within my home directory. I was able to find X11 within opt, and I navigated to the internal xinitrc file, but I'm not sure that's the right way to do it. Where exactly within the XQuartz file directory, or any other directory can I find the Xmodmap/Xdefaults directory?

UPDATE: Apparently there is neither an Xmodmap, nor an Xdefaults. I used a find command from root and got nothing. Suggestions?
