I'm trying to read what is sent to /dev/null on mac os x.
There are instructions published here: http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/31958/monitor-what-is-being-sent-to-dev-null - but these don't seem to work on a mac.
In particular the mkfifo command fails with a permission denied error. (Even though I have root privileges). I think everything seems to fail in the /dev/ folder. (a simple touch command does too).
Is there any workaround for mac os x?
Btw, for those that try the command in the link above, to undo it you need to do:
mknod /dev/null c 1 3
mknod -m666 /dev/null c 1 3
(-m666 is not understood on mac os x)
