How to determine negative and positive power source on phone charger by color code between red or white ?

As there are no colors on the iPhone 4 dock connector and the iPhone chargers from Apple, you might want to expand upon where these colors are found and on which device you are working. If you refer to USB standard, then red is typically +5V and white is typically not ground, but a data line. Red (or black) wires are positive, and white wires are negative.

Those are standard industry colors.
