Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a client that would LOVE for the Mountain Lion Mail application to display the recipient (himself) in the "To:" field to be BLACK instead of GRAY - which is what Apple seems to have changed it to in 10.8. Any ideas?

I've been digging around in the plist files using Plist Editor but haven't found a thing.

Interesting as it appears to be black on my 10.8 installation. Perhaps you could edit your question to provide a screenshot? –  bassplayer7 Apr 2 '13 at 19:07

i don't have enough askdifferent cred it appears to post a pic :) I should clarify that it does appear like this only in the To: field in the reading pane or when opening an email in a new window - NOT the email list in the message viewer –  Harry Apr 4 '13 at 4:54

I actually now understand what you are saying. For some reason, I thought you were referring to the "Compose" window, not the reading pane. Yes, it is grey in the reading pane. It is interesting that your client would desire it to be black - it seems like all the email would just display his name anyway. But's that's certainly beside the point. By the way, you can upload your images to another image hosting site, and then link to them. Someone with higher rep, can then edit them in for you. –  bassplayer7 Apr 4 '13 at 12:34
