I have a macbook pro mid-2009 13" and i just replaced my faulty superdrive with a hitachi superdrive. The new superdrive stops working after every reboot. What i do is i insert/slide a disc as deep as i can(while in this state it does'n automatically inserts the disc), i then use command "drutil eject" and it gets ejected. From there i can fully use the superdrive like normal until next reboot and it stops again. I have double checked my connections inside. Superdrive is greyed out in disk utility and i have used different disks of all types. It is really annoying and i would like to know if the new superdrive is also faulty. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks in advance.
