My iPod classic, 120 GB memory, model A1238, won't start and won't charge. I have tried everything and there is no authorized Apple store here, or any store that can fix my iPod. Are there any methods I can try at home?

How long have you left it charging? I recommend trying a device reset (hold top & center of click-wheel down for 10 seconds) while plugged into charger. – bispymusic Mar 8 '13 at 15:17
Does it display connected in iTunes? – Rob Mar 10 '13 at 9:56
Is there any battery life? If not, you could replace the battery without risking too much money. – mkaz Mar 12 '13 at 9:48
I've replaced batteries in iPods before and it isn't too complicated. Look at for cost, etc. – mkaz Mar 12 '13 at 9:55
