On any OS X UI that has forms, buttons etc, Enter invokes the default option and Space invokes the currently selected element.
On Chrome, however, Enter is used to invoke the currently selected element (Space also works, but not for links; only Enter works consistently for all elements).
This makes me unable to get used to either habit. And it makes bad things happen, like:
1) I press the power button.
2) I get a dialog with options like 'Sleep', 'Restart', 'Shut Down'
3) I use Tab to select 'Sleep' and then press Enter to invoke it, but that causes the darn machine to Shut Down, since that is the default option for this dialog! arrggh!
Is there any way to make this behavior consistent?
I am open to either: Swapping Space and Enter behavior on the Mac UI. Or changing the Space key's behavior in Chrome to invoke all elements including links.
