I recently upgraded a Late-2006 24" iMac to OS X 10.7.5 (Build 11G63). I use Time Machine to backup to a Time Capsule over wifi.
I have been familiarizing myself with the Versions feature in TextEdit and iWork. It is working fine but I noticed that every time I "Browse Previous Versions", my Time Capsule mounts. I understand that Versions stores the changes locally, so I don't understand why the TC disc mounts. Is this expected? If I turn off wifi, for example, I can still browse versions as before and of course TC doesn't mount.
I should also point out that when I click on Show Info for the mounted TC volume on my desktop, I see /Volumes/Time Machine Backups/Backups.backupdb/Rob's iMac and this also appears in the Finder sidebar under the Devices heading as a mounted disc. I think this is the backup in my sparsebundle for this iMac on my Time Capsule. My Time Capsule is also listed in the Finder sidebar under the Shared heading, but it does not appear to be mounted.
The issue I have is that I must manually dismount TC after I finish browsing or it remains mounted (which I don't want).
I have not found any insights on any relevant Internet forums, the Apple Develop sight, etc.. I am hoping someone in this more technical forum can shed some light on this.
Thanks.
