Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I know

defaults read NSGlobalDomain AppleLanguages

gives result correctly. But doing

sudo defaults read NSGlobalDomain AppleLanguages

gives

The domain/default pair of (kCFPreferencesAnyApplication, AppleLanguages) does not exist.

Can someone help? I need the language list even when I run the above command with root permission.
