Intermec CK3 scanner (Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR) with iPad?

Question

I have an Intermec CK3a1 handheld scanner with Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR capabilities. I also have access to iPad 3rd and 4th generation devices.

I would like to use the Intermec scanner's bluetooth connection to see if I can get the scanner to function as a keyboard input on the iPad.

Does anybody know if this would be possible? A question more specific to the iPad: does the iPad support Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR devices for things like keybaord input?

I've been googling like crazy for product guides/manuals, etc. but haven't seen anything address this solution.

FYI, normally I would look for a more recent device, but I'm on a shoestring budget for this project and we have this device on hand.
