Background: I work in a school and we have shared laptops (which is a whole other issue) which for some AD integration difficulties are using a generic login. Due to the requirements of having a paper trail for web access, we need kids to enter their login details for proxy access.
I've been playing around with sleepwatcher and using networksetup to force changing of proxy details on wake, but for some reason when I try to change credentials they remain the same as what was previously entered (which I find sitting in the login keychain).
The command I'm using with networksetup is:
networksetup -setsecurewebproxy "Wi-Fi" 10.0.0.1 8080 on username password
and the same for -setwebproxy
I tried fiddling around with security to examine what's in the keychain and the credentials seem to be added correctly (although using Keychain Access shows the old credentials without the new ones).
So I'm wondering what I'm missing. Should I be SIGHUPping some daemon that I'm not aware of to pick up the new settings?
