When you click a hyperlink in a Word document, Word seems to download the entire contents of the link before opening it in your browser. For large documents or on slow connections, this can add quite a wait, with no real benefit (your browser still has to download the contents of the link too). Is there a way to disable this pre-load step?
The exact status message is "Word is preparing to load this document."
