I've been having this problem where I cannot

  • send text messages

but I can

  • receive text messages
  • connect to the internet
  • make calls.

I've called my network which is 3 and they have verified that its not a network problem, I've been on the phone with Apple and they are no help, its been like this for about 2 days now and its really starting to annoy me, I've master reset my phone and I've also restored it through itunes. My Iphone is a Iphone 3g

Cann you put your SIM card into another phone and see whether you can send text messages there? Would help to see whether the problem is with the phone or with the mobile contract. – patrix♦ Jan 17 at 12:53
i havent tried that, when i was on the phone to 3 they said there is no problem with the sim :/ – Bradford Jan 17 at 13:33
it does also say i only have one send and receive address whic is my apple id and my email account, on other peoples iphones their phone number comes up aswell as their email. – Bradford Jan 17 at 13:40
It sounds like you have iMessage enabled - might this be the case? What iOS version are you on? What happens when you try to send a message? And you were indeed able to send messages before? – bassplayer7 Jan 17 at 19:40
