I just got an MD525B/A (A 1460) as a gift, but I'm not really interested in it, so I'm looking to sell it. But, before I do, I want to know if the person I'm selling it to will be locked to the network that provided it. The carrier is Three (Hutchinson 3G). I'm aware that the iPad will work on all LTE bands in the UK.
Some search results say it's not locked, and I've read that other iPad versions were not SIM locked, but the Three site says this:
If you want to unlock an iPhone or iPad and you haven’t yet updated to iOS 5 or above, you'll need to connect your device to iTunes to get your unlock code. After we’ve called you, we'll send you a text or email to let you know when you can do this.
This isn't very clear, it doesn't say which iPad it refers to and I know some have not been carrier locked. Of course, this could just be a generalisation or a mistake, so I'd just like some clarification or someone's own experience with the iPad 4. Can anybody help?
