Ask Different is a question and answer site for power users of Apple hardware and software. It's 100% free, no registration required.

As an example, when I spell "misstake", a white-blue contextual menu pops up with some suggestions. When I move on, and want to return to it later, there seems to be no way to call up the menu again. I read that you can use space followed by , but this does not always work.

I am aware that I can right-click on the word, but I would like to use only the keyboard.

Is there a way to call up the spelling suggestion menu using a keyboard shortcut?

It's likely you'll need a third party solution or to hack the functionality of the OSX spell check. The solution you mention is for OSX related products, like the built in text editor. That's likely why it doesn't always work for or you don't have the option for it turned on. – Tony Jan 8 at 15:04
