My mac (macbook pro 4.1 running 10.8.2) seem to be dying slowly. I am now able to boot only to single user mode, all other boots gives kernel panic. I have noticed that even if I use simple console like "graphics" while staying in single user mode console, I can feel the heat at the place where graphics adapter is located. I have doubts that something is wrong with heating at the GPU that gives kernel panics because I can clearly see some artifacts on the screen which are not like dead pixels. So, is there a way to read temperature sensor data while staying in single user mode console?
