I've just gotten my hands one one of them neat pressure-sensitive Pogo Connect styluses. It doesn't have you connect to your iPad in the traditional way: it just has you enable Bluetooth as you normally would, and then launch a Connect-supported app.
Here's what I don't understand, though: when I've got Bluetooth enabled on my iPad, the icon doesn't show in the status bar unless I'm actively using the Pogo.
Now I understand that the newer iPads have that energy-efficient new 4.0 spec of Bluetooth, but as far as I'm aware, so do the iPhone 4S and 5, yet both of those (mine, at least) show the Bluetooth icons in the status bar, even when there are no devices connected/paired/etc.
No additional devices are paired with my iPhone 5 or iPad.
Explanations? And is there any difference in battery life indicated by this, or is just purely superficial?
