According to the Bark website, I should be able to just install the Bark plugin, and turn it on in Growl.

I swear I had this working on another OS X installation, but isn't working now.

The steps I did:

  1. Install Growl from the App Store.
  2. Install Bark
  3. In Growl's preferences:
    1. Under "Displays"
    2. In the drop-down for "Default Actions"
    3. Select "Bark" so that a checkmark appears.

Now when I run things like Guard with the ruby_gntp plugin (the main thing I have that uses Growl) only growl notifies me. OS X Notifications are not triggered.
