My main iTunes library is on my iMac and all albums (some bought from iTunes, most ripped from my CDs) have album artwork specified. Either auto-downloaded from the web or manually added, I even customized some of the album artwork because some album covers are just too ugly (for display on my rec room TV via Apple TV) so I switched them to something more pleasant (photos of the band, or whatever).
To copy my iTunes library from my iMac to my MacBook, I enabled 'Home Sharing' on the iMac and connect with iTunes on the MacBook. I did an "Import all items". All music is now copied to the MacBook, but about half the albums don't have artwork. I did, however, get a lot of the customized artwork so I know the artwork is coming from the iMac and not from the internet.
Is it possible that if the album artwork originally came from the internet, then the Macbook iTunes library will try to get it from the internet too and fail if it's not there? Is there a way to force iTunes to import the album artwork from my 'home shared' iTunes library? Any other ideas to fix this?
