I'm trying to help a family member with their iPhone. I'm pretty tech savy, but I would rather ask this question because I don't deal with iOS too often.

The iPhone used to sync calendars and contacts from outlook, but after the update to iOS 6, it seemed to have stopped. He went to the Apple store, but they said that they couldn't help him. Is it still possible to sync calendars and contacts with Outlook on iOS 6? What steps should I take.

Yes. That is possible. More of the question is how you sync it. That can be done with iCloud, Gmail, Exchange, I believe, and other similar services. The first thing I would check is settings - making sure they are still correct. – bassplayer7 Dec 5 '12 at 0:41
