I have a WD "My Book Thunderbolt Duo" 6TB.

I have the option to format the disk using the WD utilities or to do something custom with Disk Manager.

Is there any difference in functionality between each utility that I use? For example does the WD utility do RAID in hardware vs the OS doing in software?
