Welcome to StackExchange! Unfortunately, this would be a very difficult question to answer because no one knows what OS X 10.9 will be like. Also, as per the FAQ questions regarding pre-release software are off topic. – bassplayer7 Nov 23 '12 at 21:16

Being that it is currently possible to upgrade directly to 10.8 from 10.6 by taking the InstallESD.dmg and making a bootable drive from it, as long as 10.9 will support the hardware of your computer, there is probably a good chance that you can upgrade it. Because you are running snow leopard, I'm guessing your computer is from around 2009 or earlier. 10.8 is supported by macs from 2006 with some upgrades, so 10.9 will probably be upgradeable on your computer.

I purchased my Macbook in October 2010. The only reason I ask is that if OS X 10.9 does come out in late 2013, then I wouldnt bother upgrading to Mountain Lion, which I guess I would do, but am in no desperate hurry to do so. If I did upgrade to ML I guess it would be in the mid to latter portion of 2013. Obviously if 10.9 is not released at all in 2013, then I will upgrade to ML. Thanks for any feedback – Simon Nov 23 '12 at 21:50

This all really is just guessing... – Gerry Nov 24 '12 at 8:08
I thought generally apple bring out a new OS every year, this is the only reason I ask. I though it was quite a fair question – Simon Nov 24 '12 at 9:02
But thankyou Chris Galzerano, for your comments at least – Simon Nov 24 '12 at 9:03
