I am trying to read mail I have received in the last few months. All I seem to get is recent mail. I have tried to adjust the amount of mail I view, by going to; Settings > Mail, contacts & calendar > show and then adjusting but I'm still unable to see old mails.

Are you sure that all this mail is in your Inbox? Which Mail provider are you using (iCloud, Gmail, ...)? – patrix♦ Nov 10 '12 at 14:32
Yes because I have seen that my recent mail is there but not my old. I am using the iPad provided app which is called 'mail', but my email address is a yahoo registered account. – Pauline Tucker Nov 10 '12 at 14:36

If you log in into your yahoo account (via the web browser), is your old mail in the Inbox or in a folder? – patrix♦ Nov 10 '12 at 14:48
